Volunteer opportunities with CRIN

The coordinating unit of CRIN is based in London at the Save the Children headquarters. We are a small team of three staff, but would not be able to achieve as much without the invaluable contribution of our volunteers and interns.

We are always interested in hearing from people who have some time and skills they would like to share with the team. As we are based in London, most of the opportunities will be for those based in London, however there are ways you can help if you are based elsewhere in the world. All you need is access to the internet and an email address.

Below is a list of some of the current roles that are open to volunteers:

  • Translators (French, Spanish and Arabic) – Home based

Most of our services are in English, but increasingly, we provide information services in French , Spanish and Arabic . We know from our research that there is a huge demand for information on children’s rights into other languages. If you can spare a few hours a week or more to help us with translations in any of the above (or in Russian and Chinese as well), we would love to hear from you.

  • Photographers

We are always on the look out for artistic black and white photographs for our hard copy publication, ‘The Review’. If you have images which depict children as being active participants in shaping their own lives rather than as victims, please send them to info@crin.org. We are also interested in hearing from you if you are going somewhere where you will have the opportunity to take some good pictures.

  • Fundraising Adviser – Home based or London based

CRIN receives funding from five leading child rights organisations and from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However we are always looking for new funding opportunities and would really value help from you if you have experience of fundraising with Trusts, the private sector or other funding organisations. This could be as on-going support to us or as one-off project.

  • Web editor/Web content editor – London, United Kingdom

Our website is our main tool for reaching out to the thousands of child rights actors around the world who use our services. It is updated daily by staff and volunteers and offers interactive tools, such as feedback, RSS and more. We are looking for someone with some experience of website development and an interest in human rights to help us develop new pages, explore new opportunities and make use of campaigning tools.

This role could also include updating pages on the CRIN website; writing and editing materials to ensure a high editorial standard and relevance to members; making proactive approaches to members and others to ensure that the content of CRIN's website is widely sourced, accessible, relevant and produced to a high standards.
